The main theoretical perspectives that guide my work are:

Internal Family Systems

&

Humanistic/Existential Psychology,

which foster a holistic perspective, viewing people as motivated to seek their

full potential and

personal growth.
Although these are areas of primary focus, having an eclectic understanding of many

psychological perspectives is important when

creating therapeutic interventions for varying issues.

In my practice, I often use a strength-based approach to work

toward helping individuals and couples realize, recuperate and

utilize their existing strengths, as well as using new,

more effective coping skills to move toward a more

fulfilling and self-accepting life.

My approach is direct, yet nurturing, often with a

healthy dose of humor.
I strive to help

people create positive change in the present, while

understanding how their history informs their current lives.

I am often amazed by people's resiliency, and enjoy the

process of helping them see and be their potential.

What is my "style" of therapy?...

I encourage new clients to be comfortable finding a good fit with their
new therapist. The relationship you build is what guides the work you do, so don't be nervous about being picky. Ask people you trust for referrals, and always know you can
change your mind until that "good fit" is found.
